  1. Why isn't e-bidding (electronic bidding) included in the system?
    E-procurement requires further development in Canada. As other Canadian jurisdictions, we will observe national trends and determine if and when this feature can be adopted in Yukon.
  2. Is my information safe?
    Yes, TMS is a secure website using HTTPS (Hyper Text Tranfer Protocol Secure). The main purpose of HTTPS is to create a secure channel over any given network. HTTPS is widely used in the industry and ensures reasonable protection from hackers.
  3. What if I cannot or or do not want to create an account?
    It is not mandatory for businesses to use TMS, but the benefits of the system cannot be accessed without becoming a registered user (creating an account).  Contract Services will continue to offer the same store front service:
    • Receive requests for hard copies by phone or at the counter.
    • Provide hard copies of tender documents and addenda.
  4. What if I am not receiving email notifications?
    Email notifications are automated based on the tender category(ies).  Ensure you have selected a tender category in your account details and that you have added yourself to the Plan Holder List for an open tender that interests you.

    Email notifications are sent to registered users and Plan Holder List members for:
    • Newly published procurement opportunities.
    • Addenda issued for specific tenders.
  5. What if I do not want to receive email notifications?
    Registered users can change the account information to unselect the tender category(ies) selected and remove themselves from any Plan Holder List.
  6. Can businesses outside of Yukon set up and account and access all the benefits of the system?
    Yes. Businesses outside of Yukon can set up accounts and choose to use all the benefits TMS provides.  This ensures adequate access to procurement opportunities open to businesses outside Yukon as per trade agreements Yukon must follow.
  7. Can I get a hard copy of tender documents? 
    Yes, interested parties can still request hard copies (online contracts@gov.yk.ca or by phone 867-667-5385).
  8. Will my information be shared? 
    No, your information will only be used by Contract Services for tendering purposes.
