Borders, Climate Change and Energy Addressed at Leadership Forum
WHITEHORSE – Border solutions, climate change and energy matters were among the topics discussed by Economic Development Minister Jim Kenyon and his northwestern colleagues at the Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER) Leadership Forum in Whistler, British Columbia, Nov. 20 – 21.
“It is the work we do at forums like these that allow us to build strong, viable communities, solid trade relationships and partnerships that are critical to the sustainability and growth of our respective jurisdictions,” Kenyon said.
The two-day program included a panel discussion between PNWER officials and the private sector, a workforce mobility working session, and a meeting of the PNWER Executive Committee.
“We remain committed to the mandate and goals embodied by PNWER for the benefit of all Yukoners,” Kenyon added.
PNWER is a regional U.S.-Canada forum dedicated to encouraging global economic competitiveness and preserving the Pacific Northwest’s natural environment.
