Geoscience Forum Showcases Yukon’s Mineral Industry and Geological Research
WHITEHORSE – The Yukon government and the Yukon Chamber of Mines welcome participants and guests of the 36th Annual Geoscience Forum and Mining Trade Show, taking place November 24 to 26. The forum and trade show highlight advances in the mineral industry and showcase Yukon geological research.
“The Yukon government is proud to support this valuable event again this year,” said Energy, Mines and Resources Minister Brad Cathers. “We have a strong commitment to the mineral industry. By supporting knowledge sharing events like the Geoscience Forum, we are building a solid foundation for Yukon’s mineral sector.”
Organized by the Yukon Chamber of Mines, the annual forum welcomes participants from across Canada, including geologists, scientists, academics, investors, prospectors, placer miners, and representatives from service and supply companies and mining and oil and gas companies.
“This is an excellent venue to showcase Yukon’s diverse and well-established supply, service and professional sectors to the junior and senior mining industries, as well as the investment community,” President of the Yukon Chamber of Mines Carl Schulze said. “It also provides a fine opportunity for the Yukon Geological Survey to present its annual findings, integrated with results from previous seasons.”
Yukon Geological Survey staff will be at the Mining Trade Show to answer questions that visitors may have about Yukon geology and the survey’s latest research projects.
Admission to the trade show is free and the public is encouraged to attend. For more information or to register as a delegate, contact the Yukon Chamber of Mines or visit www.ycmines.ca.
