WHITEHORSE – Yukon government has entered into a signed agreement with Klondike Snowmobile Association (KSA) which will unite the Trans Canada Trail, Highways and Public Works Minister Archie Lang announced today.
“The signing of this agreement is significant in that it will close the final gap in the Trans Canada Trail, allowing a trail connection between the North and the rest of Canada,” Lang said. “Upon signing, Canada will have a trail that reaches from coast to coast to coast.”
Yukon government and the Klondike Snowmobile Association have agreed that the highways will be designated as part of the Trans Canada Trail and may be subject to increased recreational use. Recreational users are required to use portions of highway right-of-ways rather than the road surface except at clearly identified crossing points.
