Yukon Government Announces Completion of the Lewes River Bridge

WHITEHORSE – The final stage of the Lewes River Bridge rehabilitation project is now complete, Highways and Public Works Minister Archie Lang announced today.

“I am pleased to announce that the Lewes River bridge rehabilitation that took place throughout the summer is now complete, ahead of schedule,” Lang said. “Yukon government strives to enhance infrastructure throughout the territory; adding to and improving infrastructure will remain a priority as we move forward.”

The work on the bridge consisted of replacing the bridge deck, steel structural work, new bearings and painting the floor beams and stringers.

“The project went smoothly and I would like to personally thank Yukoners, especially Marsh Lake residents, affected by this for their patience during the reconstruction period,” Lang added.
