Energy Cost Savings Directory Launched
WHITEHORSE – The Yukon government has created a directory to assist Yukoners in accessing energy efficiency programs, Energy Mines and Resources Minister Brad Cathers announced.
“The government has a variety of home and business energy efficiency programs and available expertise to help Yukoners reduce their energy consumption and save money,” Cathers said. “This new service will provide a single point of access to Yukoners, connect them with programs and services offered by government departments and the Yukon Housing Corporation.”
The directory also provides transportation and energy tips, information on income support and tax relief, and a list of various programs housed in various government departments. It is available online at www.gov.yk.ca.
“The wide range of programs and services offered by the Energy Solutions Centre, Health and Social Services, the Department of Finance and the Yukon Housing Corporation demonstrate the Yukon government’s comprehensive approach to addressing high energy costs being faced by Yukoners,” Cathers added. “The site launched today will help inform Yukoners about steps they can take to reduce their energy costs."
