Yukon Film Advisory Committee Struck
WHITEHORSE - Economic Development Minister and Minister responsible for the Yukon Film & Sound Commission Jim Kenyon is pleased to announce the formation of the Yukon Film Advisory Committee.
"Film is an important cultural industry in Yukon," Kenyon said. "The formation of this committee will provide a valuable opportunity for information exchange between the Yukon government and industry members."
Membership of the committee is comprised of representatives from the Yukon Film & Sound Commission, Yukon Film Society, Northern Film and Video Industry Association, Klondike Institute of Arts and Culture and Independent Filmmakers.
Congratulations to Celia McBride, Lulu Keating, Heidi Slat, Ross Burnett, Jessica Hall and Dan Sokolowski on being appointed as members of the committee.
The first committee meeting will be held September 18 in Whitehorse. The meeting is open to all interested members of the Yukon film industry.
The committee will provide information and recommendations to the Yukon Film & Sound Commission in order to foster the development and growth of the local film industry.
