Premier Fentie Announces Beginning of Community Tour 2008
WHITEHORSE - Premier Dennis Fentie and his Cabinet colleagues will soon be visiting Yukon communities during the upcoming fifth annual Premier's Community Tour.
"I encourage all Yukoners to come and participate in the community meetings," Fentie said. "We value your participation and want to hear your ideas and suggestions respecting delivery of Yukon government programs and services."
The Premier's Community Tour is an opportunity for Yukoners to have their voices heard about issues that are important to them.
"This government continues to work hard to improve Yukon communities. With your help in letting us know what matters to you, we will do an even better job. We are there to listen," Fentie added. "Your attendance and participation will help us better understand what's important in each community."
The government's four key commitments are to:
• achieve a better quality of life for Yukoners;
• protect and preserve our environment and wildlife;
• promote a strong, diversified private-sector economy; and
• practice good governance with strong fiscal management.
The Community Tour 2008 will start Friday, August 22 at Old Crow and continue throughout Yukon over two months.
