Film And Sound Commissioner Appointed

WHITEHORSE - Economic Development Minister Jim Kenyon is pleased to announce the appointment of Barbara Dunlop to the position of Yukon Film & Sound Commissioner.

A long standing member of the Yukon cultural industries community, Dunlop is a novelist, a past organizer of local creative writing events, and a frequent speaker at Canadian and international writing conferences. Dunlop brings strong organizational skills to the Yukon Film & Sound Commission, along with a background in policy and strategic planning.

Dunlop has worked for the Yukon government for the past 15 years and has been Acting Film & Sound Commissioner since December 2006, undertaking such initiatives as the Shared Vision strategic planning process with the Yukon film industry.
