Yukon's Own Live Action Animations Airing Now
WHITEHORSE – Economic Development Minister Jim Kenyon has extended congratulations to the cast and crew of Anash and the Legacy of the Sun-Rock on the successful completion of their live action animation series.
Shot entirely in Yukon in the fall of 2006, Anash was produced, written and directed by Teslin resident Carol Geddes, with Edmonton’s Josh Miller as the executive producer. Anash employed 119 Yukon residents during five weeks of principal photography.
“We congratulate Carol Geddes and Josh Miller, along with the cast and crew of Anash for bringing an important northern story to life,” Kenyon said. “The Yukon government is pleased to offer financial support to our talented film producers in bringing their projects to a national audience.”
The six-part television series has been approved for up to $500,000 in support through the Film & Sound Commission’s Yukon Film Production Fund. It is anticipated that on completion this production will have spent almost $1.67 million in Yukon.
Co-produced by The Thing with Feathers Production (Yukon) and Panacea Entertainment (Alberta), this production provided training to 12 Yukon residents to assist in developing the Yukon crew base.
Anash and the Legacy of the Sun-Rock began airing on APTN on November 8. For a complete broadcast schedule visit www.anashinteractive.com.
The Yukon Film & Sound Commission is a branch of Yukon government’s Department of Economic Development. It offers six separate funds and incentive initiatives aimed at supporting and developing a sustainable and competitive film and sound recording industry in Yukon.
