Minister Receives Report On The School Facilities Study

WHITEHORSE - Education Minister Patrick Rouble received the final School Facilities Study on June 25 as prepared by Hold Fast Consultants.

"I have met with the Copper Ridge Advisory Committee to discuss the report as related to their recommendations," Rouble said. "We value the committee's contribution to this process and see their continued participation as critical in ensuring the effective implementation of any future school planning in the Copper Ridge area."

The Copper Ridge Advisory Committee (CRAC), which includes residents from the Copper Ridge area, collectively states that: "This report reflects the recommendation of the CRAC and we look forward to seeing these recommendations implemented in a timely manner."

It is anticipated that this report will be a useful tool in making decisions with regard to future school planning not only in Copper Ridge but also in the rest of Whitehorse and surrounding area.

The School Planning Study will be posted on the Department of Education website at www.education.gov.yk.ca. Hard copies will be available at the Department of Education building at 1000 Lewes Boulevard or call 667-5141.
