WHITEHORSE - Economic Development Minister Jim Kenyon announced today the launch of www.investyukon.com, a new website to support investment attraction to Yukon.

"This website is another step forward in this government's commitment to build a sustainable Yukon economy," Kenyon said. "Highlighting opportunities for investment across a range of business sectors, the site provides an engaging window into Yukon's investment opportunities."

Based on the theme "Wide Open Opportunity" the website provides potential investors with information on seven key economic sectors in Yukon: mining and exploration; tourism and culture; oil and gas; innovation and technology; small and medium enterprise; film and sound; and, forestry.

The website also features specific information on Yukon's strategic location, infrastructure, transportation, lifestyle, business climate, and labour market.

"With a variety of links to various government sites and business organizations, this website is really a hub for investors and businesses interested in Yukon," Kenyon added.

InvestYukon.com offers an on-going showcase of Yukon business and industry success stories across a variety of sectors. Currently, the site features Air North, Sportees, Sherwood Copper, and Aurora Geosciences.

The Department of Economic Development works with the Yukon business community, First Nations and other governments to support business development, trade and investment opportunities, as well as partnerships for the development of the Yukon economy.
