WHITEHORSE - Lake Laberge MLA Brad Cathers was sworn in today as the newest member of the Government of Yukon Cabinet. He will be responsible for the Department of Health and Social Services as well as the Workers' Compensation Health and Safety Board.
Premier Dennis Fentie will become the minister responsible for the Department of Environment while Elaine Taylor will assume the role of Deputy Premier in addition to her duties as minister of Tourism and Culture, Public Service Commission and the Women's Directorate.
"I welcome Mr. Cathers to Cabinet," Fentie said. "Environment and health are priorities for us and we look forward to working hard on behalf of Yukoners in these areas."
