Premier, Cabinet Visiting Yukon Communities
WHITEHORSE - Premier Dennis Fentie and his Cabinet colleagues are starting their annual community tour next week.
"I want to encourage Yukon residents to come and participate in our community tour meetings," Fentie said. "We want Yukoners to engage in two-way dialogue and to voice their opinions."
The goal of the community tour is to listen to Yukoners' views about issues, programs and services, and how they are affecting their communities. The premier and his colleagues would also like to deliver news about the Yukon government’s activities and progress during the past year.
"The community tour is extremely important to get a real idea of how we're doing. The Government of Yukon is working hard to make improvements in our communities," Fentie added. "Attendance and participation will better help government understand peoples' hopes for the future of their communities."
The community tour will start Wednesday, Sept. 7 in Old Crow and will continue onto Mayo, Keno and other communities during the next few months.
For more information about the community tour schedule, watch for ads in newspapers, call 1-800-661-0408 or visit the main government website at www.gov.yk.ca, under 'Events and Notices'.
