WHITEHORSE - The Yukon Liquor Corporation has produced a new brochure titled Hosting an Event: Permits & Serving Liquor Responsibly. The brochure provides information to help people and organizations plan and host events where liquor is served.
"We want to make sure that Yukoners have the information they need to serve liquor responsibly and to host a safe and successful event," said Jim Kenyon, the minister responsible for the Yukon Liquor Corporation.
The new brochure highlights the permitting process, summarizes the rules for serving liquor at private and public functions, and provides useful tips for planning and hosting an event.
The Yukon Liquor Corporation also offers a free three-hour course on serving liquor responsibly. The Be A Responsible Server (BARS) course is offered in Whitehorse and the rural communities, including evenings and weekends.
For more information or to get a copy of the new brochure, please contact the Yukon Liquor Corporation's Head Office, Yukon Liquor Stores, or Yukon Territorial Agents in the rural communities. The brochure is also available online at http://www.ylc.yk.ca/ .
Remember, if an event involves liquor service, a liquor permit is required.
