New deputy minister at Highways and Public Works

Premier Sandy Silver today announced that Jaime Pitfield has been appointed as deputy minister for the Department of Highways and Public Works.

Pitfield brings over 30 years of senior leadership and public service experience to his new role. Most recently he served as assistant deputy minister of Infrastructure and Environment with the Department of National Defence. He was also the assistant deputy minister of Corporate and Technology Services with the Department of Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and was the chief financial officer for Canada’s national research granting councils.

Pitfield will begin on December 6.

  • Paul McConnell has been acting deputy minister since November 2016 and will return to his position as assistant deputy minister of the Property Management Division of Highways and Public Works.
