Major infrastructure investment in Yukon

Yukon will receive a huge boost to infrastructure funding. The territorial and federal governments have announced almost $600 million in new funding dollars specifically directed to infrastructure projects.

The funding, which is part of Canada’s long-term infrastructure plan, will help the Government of Yukon meet its goals of improving and developing infrastructure in Yukon communities. The funds, designated over 10 years, will:

  • make communities healthy and livable through green infrastructure investments;
  • encourage inclusiveness through access to community, cultural and recreational spaces;
  • boost the quality of life in rural and northern communities through infrastructure improvement and development; and
  • improve sustainability through public transit.
