Digital media projects eligible for Government of Yukon film funding initiatives

Yukon digital media projects are now eligible for funding under the Government of Yukon’s film funds. These changes were announced by Minister of Economic Development Ranj Pillai on April 15 at the Dawson City Short Film Festival.

This change responds to a need highlighted by Yukon media professionals and ensures Yukon funds align with federal media funding programs. Digital media is now eligible under all five film funding programs administered by the media development unit.

Yukon media professionals will now be able to expand their storytelling reach, improve access to federal programming, and grow their skillset. This will allow local media professionals to be more competitive both nationally and internationally within their industry.

The film and media industries are a key factor in the Government of Yukon’s commitment to supporting a strong, diversified economy.
