PDAC a successful showcase of Yukon’s mineral industry

Yukon presented its investment opportunities and mineral potential at this year’s 2017 Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) annual conference held March 5 to 8 in Toronto.

Yukon had a strong presence at the PDAC conference this year. Premier Silver and Minister Pillai, along with officials from the departments of Energy, Mines and Resources, and Economic Development, attended the conference.

Quick facts

  • Staff showcased mining and exploration projects to national and international representatives at the InvestYukon booth at the PDAC trade show.
  • The Government of Yukon worked collaboratively with industry and the Yukon First Nations Chamber of Commerce at the booth to highlight Yukon’s robust mineral opportunities.
  • Attendance at PDAC also included forums and meetings with key mineral companies, investors and cross-jurisdictional counterparts.
  • Newmont Resources signed a significant earn-in agreement with Goldstrike Resources to develop the Plateau project in Yukon. This announcement during PDAC added to the already strong investor interest in Yukon.
