Yukon Legislative Assembly to reconvene April 20

Premier Sandy Silver announced today that the speaker will reconvene the Yukon Legislative Assembly on Thursday, April 20 at 1 p.m. This session will quickly adjourn and the Commissioner will return at 3 p.m. to begin the next session with a Speech from the Throne.

Several key pieces of legislation will be brought forward, including the 2017-18 budget, amendments to the Vital Statistics Act and the Human Rights Act, and legislation to establish National Aboriginal Day as a statutory holiday beginning in 2017.

The public is invited to attend the session at the Yukon Legislative Assembly at 2071 Second Avenue in Whitehorse.
