WHITEHORSE—The Government of Yukon is inviting comments on the criteria for the Order of Yukon, a new annual award that will recognize Yukoners’ achievements.
“Yukoners who have made an outstanding contribution to society deserve to be publicly recognised through this new award,” Premier Darrell Pasloski said. “Public input on the criteria is an important part of establishing the Order of Yukon.”
The award will honour Yukon residents’ significant accomplishments, dedication to the community and remarkable service.
The first Order of Yukon will be presented on Yukon’s birthday, June 13, 2017, to help mark Canada’s 150th anniversary celebrations. Up to three awards will be presented each year.
