Statement from the premier regarding the attack in Nice

WHITEHORSE—Premier Darrell Pasloski today issued the following statement on behalf of Yukoners, following yesterday’s attack in Nice, France:

“On behalf of Yukoners, I want to express our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed or injured in yesterday’s attack in Nice, France, during Bastille Day celebrations. I also hope for a fast recovery for all those who have been injured.

“Yukon stands in solidarity with the people of France during this challenging time. All Yukoners mourn the loss of so many innocent victims. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of France.

“Our own territory is enriched by the vibrant contributions of our French-speaking community and we know they will be especially saddened by the violence in France. We offer them our unequivocal support.”

Yukoners in France or planning to travel to France should consult the Government of Canada’s latest travel advice and advisories.
