Government of Yukon funds Mental Health Association of Yukon executive director position

WHITEHORSE—At today’s Mental Wellness Summit Minister of Health and Social Services Mike Nixon announced additional funding for the Mental Health Association of Yukon to support a part-time executive director position.

“We are very pleased to help support the excellent work of the Mental Health Association of Yukon,” Nixon said. “The contribution agreement will enable the association to support specific projects and further the excellent work their organization undertakes.”

The contribution agreement calls for specific deliverables, work plans and reports, and will cover delivery of the Living Life to the Full program and the Mental Health Works program.

“This additional funding will be a great help to the association,” Mental Health Association of Yukon chair Ray Wells said. “Having an executive director will streamline the work we do and help us accomplish more.”

The contribution agreement will run from end of June this year to the end of the next fiscal year, in March 2018, with a value of $7,500 for this fiscal year and $58,000 for 2017/18.
