Government of Yukon appoints new Yukon Liquor Corporation president

WHITEHORSE—Premier Darrell Pasloski has appointed Matt King as president of the Yukon Liquor Corporation. This is a newly created position, as the Yukon Liquor Corporation and the Yukon Housing Corporation previously shared the same president. King will also be responsible for Lotteries Yukon.

“I’m pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. King, and offer him my congratulations,” Pasloski said. “Pamela Hine will continue in her role as president of the Yukon Housing Corporation. Assigning separate leadership to these two important portfolios will allow for increased attention to both corporations.”

Minister responsible for the Yukon Housing Corporation, Yukon Liquor Corporation and Lotteries Yukon Stacey Hassard added: “This change in the leadership structure will allow us to build on the momentum created by our Housing Action Plan and continue to address important housing issues. In addition, it provides for dedicated leadership for liquor operations throughout the territory.”

Since 2009, King has held senior leadership positions in the Yukon government including director of housing operations and vice president of operations for the Yukon Housing Corporation. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Royal Roads University.
