WHITEHORSE—The Miles Canyon Suspension Bridge has reopened for the summer.
“I am very pleased that we have made the temporary repairs as quickly as we have and can now reopen the Miles Canyon bridge,” Minister of Community Services Currie Dixon said. “Yukoners and visitors alike will be able to enjoy visiting the bridge and the surrounding area this summer.”
The bridge will be closed again in early fall for complete repairs, which are expected to take a couple of months. Detailed design for the bridge has been completed and a request for tender is currently underway for the permanent rehabilitation work.
“Public safety remains our top priority,” Dixon added. “We thank everyone for their continued patience, and look forward to seeing the final repair work completed this fall.”
