Yukon opposition leaders included in Yukon delegation to COP21

WHITEHORSE—Yukon NDP Leader Liz Hanson and Yukon Liberal Leader Sandy Silver will be joining the Yukon delegation at the United Nations’ climate change meeting in Paris at the invitation of Premier Darrell Pasloski.

“The Yukon government recognizes the serious challenges posed by climate change, and the impact this has on life in the North,” Pasloski said. “I am pleased to have the leaders of the other parties join me at this conference in order to collectively increase our knowledge of climate change and share best practices.”

The Yukon delegation will also include the Climate Change Youth Ambassador Sabrina Clark, and officials from the Department of Environment.

The 21st Conference of the Parties (COP21) will be held in Paris, from November 30 through December 11. This is the ninth COP meeting attended by a Yukon delegation.
