Yukon Liquor Corporation to seek input from liquor licensees

WHITEHORSE—The Yukon Liquor Corporation will engage with liquor licensees later this month to gather input on potential changes to Yukon’s liquor regulations.

“The Yukon Liquor Corporation is responding to requests from industry to make it simpler for businesses to operate,” Minister responsible for the Yukon Liquor Corporation Stacey Hassard said. “Information gathered at these meetings will help us draft new liquor regulations that are clearer and more consistent.”

Potential changes to Yukon’s liquor regulations include removing obsolete liquor storage policies, standardizing fees, clarifying licensing processes and reducing administrative overhead.

This work builds on the February 2015 introduction of wholesale pricing for the industry, which marked the beginning of a process to better support operators in Yukon’s hospitality sector.
