WHITEHORSE— Premier Darrell Pasloski is pleased to announce the appointment of Katherine White as deputy minister for the Department of Finance.
“Ms. White brings a wealth of advanced strategic leadership skills in the public sector to her new position with the Yukon government,” Pasloski said. “Her robust strategic and analytical skills have earned her a stellar reputation amongst senior levels of government as well as the respect and trust of her colleagues and clients.”
Prior to this appointment White served as the assistant deputy minister, chief economist and executive director of the Alberta Treasury Board and Finance.
White has demonstrated expertise in fiscal policy and a deep understanding of the economic and social context that underpins sound financial management. She has served as president and vice-president of the Economics Society of Northern Alberta and has written extensively on social assistance in Canada. White is an advocate of women in leadership, having spoken passionately on the topic at conferences, leadership seminars and on panels. White holds a master of arts in economics from the University of Calgary.
White will assume her new role on September 8.
