Premier sets direction for ministers

WHITEHORSE—Premier Darrell Pasloski has issued new mandate letters to his ministers and departments that set out a long-term vision for Yukon’s future.

“I am very proud of the work this government has been able to accomplish so far in our mandate,” Pasloski said. “We must continue to build on this momentum. These letters provide direction and set out key priorities, charting the course for Yukon’s long-term future.”

The premier has set forth four strategic goals: making investments in infrastructure; improving Yukon’s regulatory regime; making Yukon a viable and attractive place to live and work; and building partnerships with First Nations. The mandate letters also outline specific tasks that are to be completed by the ministers and their respective departments.

“Our vision is to grow Yukon into a region that contributes to the economy of Canada, so that our children will have the same opportunities and advantages that we have,” Pasloski added. “I look forward to working with my ministerial colleagues to continue to work towards this shared goal.”

The ministers’ mandate letters are available on the Yukon government website.
