WHITEHORSE—In winter holiday tradition, the Yukon government administration building will once again host musical talent during noon hours from November 28 to December 5.
The Government of Yukon is hosting the Celebration of Music, an annual public event since 1987. This year 11 Yukon musical ensembles will be performing in the main foyer and Yukoners of all ages are encouraged to come and watch the free performances.
“As Yukoners look forward to the winter holidays and the Christmas season, the Yukon government is proud to showcase local artists during the Celebration of Music,” Premier Darrell Pasloski said.
Kicking off the program on Friday, November 28 is the Whitehorse Community Choir.
“Come out for a taste of Christmas from the North with songs to bring in the holiday spirit,” the choir’s director Barbara Chamberlin said. “We are welcoming in the holidays with carols from Yukon, Poland, Russia, Canada and other snowy places!”
The musical performances are open to the public; there is no cost to attend.
