WHITEHORSE—A lottery will be held on September 17 for nineteen remote access recreational lots in the Carcross area, Energy, Mines and Resources Minister Scott Kent announced today.
“These remote recreational lots were created as a result of the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding on economic development between the Yukon government and the Carcross/Tagish First Nation,” Kent said. “They are now ready for sale by lottery. Information about the thirteen lots on Bennett Lake and six on Tagish Lake has been available since June, and further information about the lots, including pricing, is now up on our website.”
The deadline for lottery applications is 4:30 p.m. on September 15. The lottery will take place at 1:00 p.m. on September 17 in room 1A, Elijah Smith Building, 300 Main Street in Whitehorse.
Lottery information packages and application forms are available on the Energy, Mines and Resources website or from the EMR Land Management Branch in room 320 at the Elijah Smith Building in Whitehorse.
“The successful completion of this project is an excellent example of governments working together,” Kent added. “I look forward to positive progress on other economic development and infrastructure projects outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding with the Carcross/Tagish First Nation.”
Applicants and the general public are welcome to attend the draw. All successful applicants will be notified the next day.
