Moving forward on land use planning for the Peel Watershed region

WHITEHORSE—The Government of Yukon released the Peel Watershed regional land use plan consultation statistics today.

The release of the participation statistics will be followed by the posting of public comments on the government’s consultation website as well as a What We Heard document, summarizing the comments received.

“The government would like to thank those individuals and groups who took the time to submit their comments during this important consultation process,” Premier Darrell Pasloski said.

Feedback in the recent public participation process was collected through a variety of methods including the consultation website, Post-it notes filled out at public meetings, emails, a feedback form provided to households throughout Yukon, telephone and fax. The government received just over 2,100 submissions in this consultation process.

The Yukon government also received a number of petitions and form letters from groups during the consultation period, with just over 8,000 names identified, 86.5 per cent of which were from outside Yukon.
