WHITEHORSE—The Department of Energy, Mines and Resources’ Agriculture branch will be celebrating 25 years of service to the agriculture industry during this year’s North of 60° Agriculture Conference and Banquet in Whitehorse November 2 to 3.
“The Government of Yukon is proud of our history of service to the agriculture industry,” Energy, Mines and Resources Minister Brad Cathers said. “Hosting this conference is one of the many ways we are working to support the continued growth of our agriculture sector and recognize the value it adds to the quality of life in Yukon.”
The Agriculture branch and the Yukon Agricultural Association (YAA) are hosting the Yukon Grown and Raised Banquet on November 3 which will showcase local products. The event will feature music by Joe Loutchan, a combined silent and live auction, and the award presentation for this year’s Farmer of the Year.
The conference seminars span a variety of topics including livestock health, bookkeeping and accounting for farms, Yukon agriculture opportunities and the Yukon Irrigation Strategy. The conference is open to the public and free of charge.
