WHITEHORSE—Energy, Mines and Resources Minister Brad Cathers today announced a new guide to help applicants and other parties better understand the land application appeal process.
The new guide describes grounds for appeal, the levels of appeal through branch personnel, and timelines for appeal submissions and departmental response.
“While the land application process itself provides opportunities for formal dialogue between the branch, applicants and other interested parties, this guide is intended to improve people’s understanding of the formal appeal process,” Cathers said. “This represents another step in our efforts to make the land management system easy for applicants and other interested people to understand.”
The guide is available online at www.emr.gov.yk.ca/lands and at the EMR Land Management Branch, 3rd Floor, Room 320 Elijah Smith Building, 300 Main Street, Whitehorse.
