Energy, Mines and Resources deputy minister appointed

WHITEHORSE—Premier Darrell Pasloski announced today that Greg Komaromi has been named deputy minister of Energy, Mines and Resources, effective immediately.

“Mr. Komaromi brings extensive experience to the position,” Pasloski said. “He has a proven track record working with internal and external clients in both renewable and non-renewable resource management and development.”

Since 2000, Komaromi has held the position of assistant deputy minister and since September 2011 has been the department’s acting deputy minister.

"I am pleased with the appointment of Greg Komaromi as the deputy minister of Energy, Mines and Resources and look forward to continuing to work with him,” Energy, Mines and Resources Minister Brad Cathers said. "Mr. Komaromi has been responsible for the portfolios of Sustainable Resources, Energy and Corporate Policy, and most recently Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources.”

Komaromi holds a master of business administration degree from Queen’s University, as well as a bachelor of arts degree with a double major in political science and anthropology from the University of Alberta.

He succeeds Angus Robertson who retired in September 2011.
