Legislative assembly to convene December 1

WHITEHORSE—The first sitting of the 33rd Yukon Legislative Assembly will begin Thursday, December 1, Premier Darrell Pasloski announced today.

“I am pleased that the House leaders have unanimously agreed to the start date and duration of the fall sitting,” Pasloski said. “I am confident that all elected members will work hard on behalf of Yukoners during the upcoming session.”

Commissioner Doug Phillips will read the Speech from the Throne on opening day. The First Supplementary Budget for 2011-12 and the Final Supplementary Budget for 2010-11 will be tabled during the sitting. The fall sitting will be nine days and will conclude on December 15.
