Yukon remembers late NDP leader

WHITEHORSE—Premier Darrell Pasloski today offered his condolences on the death of the Honourable Jack Layton, P.C., leader of the federal New Democratic Party and the Official Opposition.

“On behalf of the Government of Yukon, I wish to express our deepest sympathy for the family, friends and colleagues of Jack Layton,” Premier Pasloski said. “Mr. Layton will be remembered as a man who brought passion, courage and optimism to federal politics, and who lived true to his convictions. His untimely passing is a great loss for all Canadians.”

A book of condolences is available in the foyer of the main administration building until September 2 for those who wish to remember Mr. Layton and express sympathy to his family.
