WHITEHORSE—Yukon Housing Corporation has awarded over $2 million in contracts to construct eight new social housing units in Carmacks and Ross River. Four single-family, wood frame residences will be built in each community.
“The residences will provide modern, affordable and energy efficient housing for families in Carmacks and Ross River,” Minister responsible for Yukon Housing Corporation Steve Nordick said. “By investing in housing projects such as these, we are helping to improve the quality of life in Yukon communities.”
Funding for the new residences is coming from Canada’s Economic Action Plan.
Construction is scheduled to begin this month.
