WHITEHORSE—New accommodations for teachers in Pelly Crossing will be ready before the start of the school year, Minister responsible for Yukon Housing Corporation Steve Nordick announced.
“We have addressed an identified need for staff housing in Pelly Crossing,” Nordick said. “The availability of housing is an important factor in recruiting and retaining employees who offer essential services in the community.”
Yukon Housing Corporation is increasing the number of staff residences in the community by three, with the installation of a unit from Millennium Homes and the conversion of an existing duplex into a four-plex. The combined projects will cost over $500,000 and are scheduled to be completed and ready for staff to move into this month.
