WHITEHORSE—Yukon’s premier, Darrell Pasloski, will attend the 2011 Western Premiers' Conference in Yellowknife June 20 to 22.
Canada’s western and northern premiers will gather in Yellowknife to discuss issues of common interest including strategic opportunities and partnerships for economic growth, healthy and sustainable communities, infrastructure, environment, justice issues and Canada-U.S. relations.
“The Western Premiers’ Conference is an excellent forum for dialogue and exchange of ideas with neighbouring jurisdictions,” Premier Pasloski said. “I’m looking forward to meeting the premiers and discussing how our governments can continue to build long-term partnerships and work together for the benefit of all Canadians.”
The conference is an annual meeting of premiers from the four western provinces and three territories. The Government of Yukon last hosted the conference in 2009 in Dawson City.
