WHITEHORSE – The popular Twin Bear program has returned to Yukon’s liquor stores, announced the Yukon Liquor Corporation.
For 18 years, the teddy bears have been purchased in pairs by customers, pleasing both them and children in need. The customer keeps one of the bears and its twin is donated during the holiday season.
“A simple teddy bear can bring a lot of joy to a child,” Minister responsible for the Yukon Liquor Corporation Jim Kenyon said. "Our customers respond generously to the Twin Bear initiative which helps to bring smiles and comfort to Yukon children."
The bears are given to children throughout Yukon who are in care, hospitals or shelters, or who receive Christmas hampers.
Bears are on sale at Yukon liquor stores in Dawson City, Faro, Haines Junction, Mayo, Watson Lake, and Whitehorse, while quantities last.
