WHITEHORSE – The winners of the 2010 Car Seat Safety Program draw were announced today by Highways and Public Works Minister Archie Lang.
“I am pleased to see this program succeed again this year,” Lang said. “Winners of this contest, both parents and children, have not only ensured their safety in the vehicle, but have also won a $500 Registered Education Savings Plan contribution towards their future.”
The 2010 winners are:
- Caiden Cruickshank, 10 months old from Whitehorse;
- Barry Larson, 7 months old from Whitehorse;
- Kathryn McDonald, 3 months old from Dawson; and
- Sampson Sippel, 3 months old from Whitehorse.
To be eligible for this contest, participants had their child restraint system or booster seat inspected by a child restraint system technician. In 2009, 92 people had their child car seats inspected. 2010 was the ninth year of the Car Seat Safety Program and the child car seat safety team continues to work with parents to increase car seat safety and awareness in Yukon communities.
