WHITEHORSE – Achievements in Yukon’s thriving minerals sector are being highlighted at the 38th annual Geoscience Forum and Mining Trade Show November 21 to 24 at the High Country Inn. Hosted by the Yukon Chamber of Mines with support from the Yukon government, the event showcases Yukon’s mineral industry and provides updates on geological research in Yukon.
“The Government of Yukon is proud to be a part of the Geoscience Forum,” Energy, Mines and Resources Minister Patrick Rouble said. “This government supports a vibrant, healthy mining industry that brings benefits to our citizens. The Geoscience Forum is an excellent showcase for the cutting edge work being done by government geologists and industry in the territory today.”
New discoveries and exploration projects will be a major focus at the forum. In addition, staff from the Yukon Geological Survey will present results from their current projects.
“The Geoscience Forum is an important venue to communicate the success of our sector,” President of the Yukon Chamber of Mines Carl Schulze said. “2010 has seen numerous exciting developments in Yukon's mining industry and the Geoscience Forum is the best way to find out what is happening.”
