WHITEHORSE – The Government of Yukon is seeking public input on proposed amendments to the Business Corporations Act.
“Proposed amendments will ensure that Yukon has a modern, healthy, and competitive business climate that welcomes new corporate registrations,” Community Services Minister Archie Lang said. “Updating the Business Corporations Act will result in Yukon legislation that is current with modern technology and business practices. This will mean regulatory compliance by corporations will be easier, while we continue to protect consumer interests.”
Yukon’s Business Corporations Act has had few changes since it was proclaimed over 25 years ago.
“This consultation will provide Yukoners with the opportunity to make comments for consideration before this important legislation is finalized,” Lang said.
A plain language document, a question and answer document and a draft act showing the proposed amendments are available at www.community.gov.yk.ca. The deadline for written comments is July 2.
