Yukon meets the world’s mineral industry at PDAC

WHITEHORSE – Yukon’s investment opportunities and mineral potential will be shared with the world’s mineral industry at the 2010 Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) annual conference from March 7 to 10 in Toronto.

“PDAC provides us with a unique opportunity to highlight Yukon’s rich mineral endowment to the global mineral industry,” Energy, Mines and Resources Minister Patrick Rouble said. “This event complements our efforts to highlight our incredible mineral wealth and excellent investment opportunities.”

The Yukon mineral industry will be represented at the core shack, investors exchange, trade show and technical program.

“This is a world-renowned conference,” Economic Development Minister Jim Kenyon said. “It is a great opportunity to present our mineral industry to the world and encourage and reinforce investment partnerships.”

Yukon will have a significant presence at the conference. Ministers and officials from both the departments of Economic Development and Energy, Mines and Resources will attend the conference and host a breakfast meeting with key members of the international investment community to discuss current mineral investment processes and opportunities.

Attendance at PDAC will also include several first-time and follow-up meetings with mineral companies interested in pursuing investment opportunities in Yukon.

At the PDAC trade show, staff from the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources will also be presenting details on Yukon mining and mineral exploration projects, government services, and the geological data available to the mineral sector.
