Online Tips Help Yukoners Make Energy Efficient Choices

WHITEHORSE – A new series of information sheets designed to help people make energy efficient choices when renovating homes or buying new appliances was announced today by Energy, Mines and Resources Minister Archie Lang.

“Having the right information to make energy efficient choices when planning home renovations or making purchasing decisions can save Yukoners money now and in the future,” Lang said.

The first seven tip sheets in the Easy Money series cover:

  • appliance buying tips,
  • appliance operating tips,
  • Energy Star® front loading clothes washers,
  • Energy Star® qualified windows,
  • Energy Star® qualified doors,
  • residential water heating, and
  • controlling humidity and condensation in your home.

Easy Money is an ongoing project to help Yukoners interested in making informed choices that will result in long term energy and cost savings. More information sheets will be added on a range of topics in the coming months.

Programs to support Yukoners’ efforts to increase energy efficiency are part of Government of Yukon’s Energy Strategy and Climate Change Action Plan.

The Easy Money tip sheets and other information on energy efficiency can be found at the Energy Solutions Centre website
