WHITEHORSE – Highways and Public Works Minister Archie Lang announced today that the Yukon government has committed $12.2 million to the new Mobile Radio System (MRS) project, subject to legislative approval.
“This new communications system will result in enhanced protection and public safety across the territory,” Lang said. “We are pleased to move forward with this modern communications infrastructure.”
The new MRS currently underway is a component of the Mobile Communications System (MoCS) and will be used by law enforcement agencies, emergency services, health officers, and transportation services.
This system will replace the Multi-Departmental Mobile Radio System (MDMRS) and will be more efficient in meeting our current and future needs.
