January 16, 2006 - Liberal Party of Canada Leader Paul Martin, and New Democratic Party Leader Jack Layton have responded to the letter, written in December by Premiers Dennis Fentie (Yukon), Joseph Handley (Northwest Territories) and Paul Okalik (Nunavut), to the four federal leaders.
The northern premiers are seeking the views of the leaders on key issues of importance for Northerners.
The leaders' responses, as well as a copy of the original letter, are attached.
