Electricity
Rate Stabilization Fund
The Rate Stabilization Fund is a monthly subsidy on electrical bills of up to $18.54 for residential customers and up to $16 per month for commercial customers on the first block of energy use. This program is scheduled to expire on June 30, 2009.
Rural Electrification and Telecommunications Program
The Rural Electrification and Telecommunications Program provides electrical and telecommunication services to owners of property located in rural Yukon. The program may provide funding for up to 25% of the assessed property value. Yukon government financing of approved projects is 100% cost-recoverable from the property-owner(s).

The Energy Solutions Centre’s Living Off the Grid publication helps Yukoners to determine how to size their home generation systems. Any energy efficiency improvements that can be made will result in a reduction in the size of the system required.
