Welcome – As I near my second year anniversary, I am overwhelmed by the generosity and kindness of people. It has been a busy rewarding time. I have met some amazing Yukoners and been introduced to and learned about many organizations as well as their mandates and concerns.
The Canada Winter Games surpassed all expectations and I personally congratulate all who were involved. It showed Canada that a small Northern community with their sister Territories can be a player in such events.
The visit by Governor General of Canada, Michaëlle Jean and her husband, Jean-Daniel Lafonde in June, 2007 was a highlight for many Yukoners. They not only saw the beauty in the land but in our people.
In late July, the Office of the Commissioner moved to 1098 First Avenue in the Closeleigh Manor building and we welcome everyone to stop by for a visit. I love to catch up on the latest happenings and share stories.
